Non-Hnd Programmes (DBS)

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-HND PROGRAMMES 

DBS–(Accounting/ Management/Marketing/Purchasing & Supply/ Entrepreneurship/ Secretarial Options)

  • Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes (including English and Mathematics) Or
  • Four (4) GCE O-Level passes (including English Language and Mathematics) Or
  • Four (4) GBCE (RSA II) passes (including English Language & Business Mathematics) Or
  • NACVET/NVTI Typist/ 2 or 3 passes in Stenographer Certificate (for Secretarial option

DBS–(Statistics and Information Technology Options)

  • Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes (including English, Mathematics plus elective Mathematics or PhysicsOr
  • Four (4) GCE O-Level passes (including English Language and Mathematics, additional Mathematics or Physics)

NB: ADMISSION OF DIPLOMA IN BUSINESS STUDIES (DBS) GRADUATES TO LEVEL 200 OF THE HND PROGRAMMES OF STUDY

Applicants who hold Diploma in Business Studies (DBS) certificates with Distinction or Credit passes from any of the Ghana Education Service (GES) accredited institutions are eligible for admission to Level 200 to pursue any of the relevant Business/Science related programmes of study at the HND level. Similarly, applicants who hold DBS certificates with a minimum of pass (es) from any of the GES accredited institutions are eligible for admission to Level 100 to pursue any of the relevant business/science related programmes of study at the HND level.

The above requirements should be backed with at least four (4) WASSCE/SSSCE credit passes including English Language and Mathematics.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-HND PROGRAMMES 

  1. Mechanical Engineering Technician (MET) Part I
    • Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Science
    • Technical option subjects; Engineering Craft, Intermediate General Engineering (GE), MECP
  •  MVM Motor Vehicle Technician (MVT) Part I
    • Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Science
    • Technical Option subject: MVM, Intermediate General Engineering (GE)
  • Electrical Engineering Technician (EET) Part I
    • Five (5) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Science and any two (2) of the following: Applied Electricity/Electronics, Physics, Mathematics
    • Electrical Installation Work Course C
    • Electrical Installation Work Course B or Electrical Installation Craft Practice
    • Telecommunication Technician (Part I)
    • General Engineering
    • Radio, Television and Electronics Mechanics

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-HND PROGRAMMES

Fashion Design and Textiles (Certificate II ) Programme – 2 years

  • Passes in SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/GCE O’ Level OR
  • NVTI Fashion Certificate Grade I OR Grade II or its equivalent OR
  • JHS graduates with knowledge and skills in Dressmaking

Advanced Fashion Design and Textiles Programme – 2 years 

  • Holders of City and Guilds Certificate In Fashion and Design (Dressmaking and Textiles) OR
  • Intermediate Dressmaking/Fashion Certificate plus at least ONE (1) year relevant practical experience OR
  • Four (4) passes in SSSCE/WASSCE subjects including English Language, Mathematics, and any other Elective subjects plus basic knowledge and skills in Dressmaking OR
  • Four (4) passes in GCE O’ Level including English Language, Mathematics, plus knowledge in Dressmaking

Certificate II in Fashion Design and Textiles:-2-Years 

  • Passes in SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/’O’ Level subjects.
  • V.T.I Fashion Certificate Grade I or Grade II or equivalent.
  • JHS Graduates with knowledge and skills in Dressmaking

Catering Certificate II (formerly Cookery 812/1)- 2years

  • Passes in relevant SSSCE/WASSCE/GBCE/ GCE O-Level subjects.
  • NVTI Grade II or JHS Certificate with working experience.

COOKERY 812/2

  • Holders of Cookery 812/1

CISCO

  • Passes in English and Mathematics
  • Passes in WAEC,ABCE (IT), GBCE (IT)
  • Basic knowledge in computer application
  • Any higher qualification(s) than above

*The Technical Examinations Unit (TEU) has changed the titles of the Intermediate Fashion Design & Textilesand Cookery 812/1 to Certificate II in Fashion Design and Textiles and Catering Certificate II respectively and  students who will be successful in all the courses at their final examination shall qualify for direct admission  into relevant HND programmes. The duration is (2) years.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR NON-HIGHER NATIONAL DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES   

Construction Technician Certificate (CTC) Part I

  • Four (4) SSSCE/WASSCE passes including English, Mathematics and Technical Drawing.
  • Technical Construction option Subjects: Craft (B/C, C/J, P/D, and Plumbing) and Advanced (B/C, C/J, P/D, and Plumbing.)
  • Passes in General Course in Construction (GCC)

CTC II/MET II/MVT II/ EET II

  • Applicants should be holders of CTC I/MET I/MVT I/EET I

CTC III/MET III/MVT III/EET III 

Applicants should be holders of CTC II/MET II/MVT II/EET II
